Bio Sanitation
Biogas is a proven anaerobic digestion technology which transforms human waste into biogas and liquid fertilizer. The bio-centre prototypes are circular towers comprising a ground floor with toilets and showers; a first floor with meeting rooms/information resource centres and a top floor with open sides and a simple hatched (makuti) roof for community meetings and functions.
The Community Cooker
This is an easy to maintain solid waste management facility. While providing for reuse and recycling of waste, the cooker is designed to manage residue solid wastes by encouraging local communities to incinerate garbage in controlled burners. The resulting heat is used to heat water and generate income through operating a bakery.

| Participatory Hygiene and Sanitation Transformation
(PHAST)
We host and support a core team of creative artists, musicians and hygiene promoters. Our PHAST process incorporates the design, pre-testing and adaptation of interactive visual tools for
learning and planning with school-children, youth and community members. |
